NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CAS INAUGURATED IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 17th December, 2015: A two day National Convention of Chartered Accountant (CA) Students was hosted by Siliguri on 17th & 18th December, 2015 at Savin Kingdom, Dagapur. This convention was organized by the Board of Studies, ICAI and hosted by Siliguri Branch of EIRC of ICAI along with EICASA. This two day Conference had been planned and designed in a way to endure the macro level exposure on various topics of professional interest. This Conference provided a unique platform for the students. The Convention was inaugurated by Sri. Ashok Bhattacharjee, Mayor, Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Sri Amarjit Chopra and all the past Presidents of ICAI. Other members present were CA Pawan Lahoti, Prog Chairman, CA Sanjay Das, Secretary, Siliguri Branch, CA Pankaj Maskara, Vice Chairman, Siliguri Branch & CA Shyam Kr Agarwal , Chairman, Siliguri Branch and numerous CAs of North Bengal. The Technical Session I,was on Audit & Accounts and the key Speaker was CA Amarjit Chopra & Moderator was CA Hukum Chand Agarwal, Past Chairman, Siliguri Branch. The Technical Session II was on Companies Act, key Speaker was CA Mohit Bhuteria & Moderator was CA Abhijit Ghosh, Past Chairman, Siliguri Branch. A special Session on Motivation was taken By Sri BK Karan Rana. A Cultural program was organized in the evening by the students named “Goonj” on Peace and Terrorism. The Technical Session III was on Indirect Tax, key Speaker was Sri V Raghuraman and Moderator was CA Kamal kr Agarwal, Past Chairman, Siliguri Branch.The Chief Guest was C. L. Denzongpa, CCIT-kolkata. A motivation class for students was taken by CA C.S Nanda, besides an Interaction with students session was taken by CA Sathya kumar. The Fourth & Final Session was on Direct Tax, key Speaker was CA (Dr.) Girish Ahuja and Moderator was CA Sanjeev Agarwal, Past Chairman, Siliguri Branch.
